The Memphis Grizzlies received a major boost regarding Jaren Jackson Jr.’s injury status ahead of Monday’s matchup with the Denver Nuggets. The forward, who has missed the last two games with an ankle injury, now has a chance to return to the lineup against Denver.

The former DPOY limped off the court in the first half, during the Grizzlies' 111-101 loss against the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday before returning to finish the game. However, he missed his team's next two games against the Sacramento Kings and the Dallas Mavericks, but could make a return against the Nuggets.

His status has been upgraded to questionable for the matchup, which is a big boost for the injury-hit Grizzlies. Memphis still has six players on the injury report, so any positive update goes a long way.

Besides Jackson, the Grizzlies will also be without Ja Morant, who suffered a calf injury last week and is expected to be out for at least two weeks. Javon Small was also added to the injury report earlier this month with a toe injury and won’t be re-evaluated for another three weeks.

Additionally, Ty Jerome, who joined from Cleveland in the offseason, has yet to make his debut for the team. Scotty Pippen Jr. (toe) and Brandon Clarke (knee) also remain sidelined and are still awaiting their season debuts.

With the Grizzlies riding their first back-to-back wins of the season after defeating the Kings and Mavericks, Jackson's return would be a big boost. The forward has been the best player for the Grizzlies this season, averaging 17.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 47.0% from the field.

Facing a red-hot Nuggets team next, Memphis will need all the personnel it can get to try to improve on its 6–11 record.
