As the Dallas Mavericks and the Miami Heat are set to face off at the Kaseya Center, Mark Cuban has already brought the game to Erik Spoelstra. On Sunday, during the Heat's practice, the NBA champion coach spoke to the media about Pelle Larsson's impact on the court.

The Heat coach showered praise on the $1,955,377 guard [Per Spotrac], making winning plays and putting himself out there every chance he got. However, he also drew attention to another aspect that he didn't think received enough attention.

"But I want to see how many times he gets hit in the face, per game. It's gotta be number 1 in the league," Spoelstra said.

However, Mark Cuban instantly had a counter to the Spoelstra, drawing attention to another player. The Mavs' minority owner brought up Dallas Mavericks forward, Dwight Powell, who has made news for getting hit in the face repeatedly for years.

Cuban also hilariously directed attention to a special page on X, dedicated to Powell getting hit in the face.

"Let me introduce you to @DwightPowell33 and @DwightsFace. Face off tomorrow in Miami 😂😂😂," Cuban wrote.

According to the NBA, Dwight Powell leads the league in getting hit in the head per minute in the game. In 12 NBA seasons, Powell has lost his tooth and been left with scars on his face. But it hasn't deterred him from playing a physical basketball and leveling the Mavs' physicality against any opponent.

"He's not afraid to get hit in the head," Mavs coach Jason Kidd said in November last year.

Mark Cuban hopes for a Steve Nash situation for Mavericks after Luka Donic trade

Things have been simply bad for the Dallas Mavericks since the Luka Doncic trade. Although Mark Cuban has maintained that he wouldn't have traded Doncic at any cost, he is living with how things have turned out and hoping for the best for his team.

Earlier this week, Cuban appeared on Theo Pinson's "Run Your Race" podcast and spoke about the trade. The Mavs owner brought up the infamous Steve Nash free agency and hoped for the same fate for his team and his former star.

"Maybe it'll be his Steve Nash, and Luka will go on to win two MVPs, I don't know," Mark Cuban said. "After we traded Nash we went to the Finals, then we won that Finals. As long as it turns out that way, I don't care. I love Luka to death, I love his team, I love the people around him."

After five years with the Mavs, Mark Cuban refused Steve Nash even that same salary that the Phoenix Suns were offering him in free agency, when Nash dearly wanted to return to Dallas. Nash joined the Suns, won two MVPs, and nearly eight years later, the Mavericks won their first title.
