Luka Doncic stole the show by rolling into the Crypto.com Arena in a Bugatti Mistral before the Lakers-Mavericks showdown on Friday. The Slovenian international's arrival went viral as fans posted videos of him driving his sleek ride on social media.

After securing a 129-119 win over his former team, Doncic got on a FaceTime call with his mentor and Mavs legend Dirk Nowitzki, who was on the "NBA Nightcap" set. Nowitzki opened the conversation by teasing Doncic about his teammate Austin Reaves's 38-point performance.

"You weren't good enough tonight, so we had to take Austin Reaves for the interview. Sorry, my friend," Nowitzki said.

Later, the show's host, Taylor Rooks, asked Doncic to reveal how 7-foot-tall Nowitzki fit in his car.

"No, he couldn't get in the car," Doncic said.

The mentor-mentee duo cracked up a little on the revelation. Rooks then told Doncic that Reaves claimed to be ahead of him in dunks this season. The Lakers said that his teammate was wrong.

"Mine was, and one so it counts more," he said.

Later, the Lakers agreed that he and Reaves both had two dunks on their tally so far in the season. The car that Luka Doncic drove to the game was the Bugatti W16 Mistral, built around the definitive W16 engine.

It was one of the only 99 units produced worldwide. According to the "DuPont Registry", the cost of buying one of these engineering marvels comes down to roughly $5 million.

Austin Reaves sets aside playful camaraderie to praise Luka Doncic

Austin Reaves and Luka Doncic have had a special connection ever since the Slovenian international first wore a purple and gold. The two players have constantly been dissing each other playfully on social media, in postgame interviews, and during fun on-court interactions.

However, on Friday, Reaves broke his playful character and expressed his honest thoughts on Luka Doncic.

"I usually don't give Luka too many compliments, but he's one of the best players in the league, has been since he came into the league. He makes the game so easy, draws so much attention," he said.

Later, Reaves said that every team throws a double team on Doncic at least once, and it allows his teammates to make the right reads and play advantage basketball.

Doncic finished with 35 points, five rebounds and 11 assists against the Mavs. The Lakers (14-4) are currently in second place in the Western Conference standings.
