LeBron James’ streak of 1,297 10-point games ended on Thursday against the Toronto Raptors. The LA Lakers superstar finished with eight points, the first time he failed to have a double-digit scoring game since Jan. 5, 2007. James made up for his shooting struggles by orchestrating the game-winning play.

Josiah Johnson, the executive producer and host of Gilbert Arenas’ “Gil’s Arena,” reacted to the streak’s end with a Drake meme.

The trolling was unsurprising, given that the former close friends' relationship had deteriorated over the past two years. Initially, LeBron James publicly supported Drizzy, but their friendship reportedly ended in 2024 when the four-time MVP sided with Kendrick Lamar during K.Dot’s epic feud with Drake.

James, DeMar DeRozan and other NBA players attended Lamar’s “Pop Out” concert in June 2024. James sang along while DeRozan and Westbrook danced to the Grammy-winning “Not Like Us,” Lamar’s opus diss track against the “Nice For What” hitmaker. James also celebrated his 40th birthday by rapping “Man at the Garden,” another Lamar masterpiece.

Drake did not just give the LA Lakers superstar the cold shoulder. The rapper covered his James tattoo with OKC Thunder MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s face. Drake has also been dissing James by editing lyrics of past songs or creating new ones to troll the four-time NBA champ.

LeBron James said it’s “it’s always love” with Drake

LeBron James’ friendship with Drake was strong as recently as 2023. James, together with his oldest son and now Lakers teammate Bronny James, appeared on stage during Drizzy’s concert in Los Angeles.

While their falling out has been fast and significant, James seems ready to move on. During an interview with Complex Sports’ Speedy Morman, James responded when asked about his relationship with Drake:

“Always wish him the best. Obviously... different places right now, currently. He's doing his thing, I'm doing mine. But it's always love for sure."

LeBron James does not want to dwell on the feud, but the fans aren’t letting him forget. Every now and then, they troll him with Drake memes, like what happened on Thursday after James’ streak of 10-point games ended.
