Steph Curry has had a long history of ankle injury, which might have forced the Warriors to become extra careful about his return. After the game, it was revealed that Curry had suffered a right quad contusion. The MRI will determine the extent of the injury.

The injury occurred in the late fourth quarter when Amen Thompson drove towards the basket, and Curry took the impact. Although the Warriors star was able to draw the offensive foul, he limped off the court and later went to the locker room.

The Dubs suffered a 100-104 loss to the Houston Rockets, who played without Kevin Durant. Curry played 33 minutes in the game before walking away with the injury. He had 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

The Warriors' season largely depends on Steph Curry's health. Their season hasn't been without struggles. After 20 games, they hold a 10-10 record and currently hold the eighth position in the West.

Curry is expected to miss at least a week with the injury. During his potential one-week absence, they will face the New Orleans Pelicans, the OKC Thunder and the Philadelphia 76ers.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr reacts to Steph Curry's injury

Steph Curry's injury could have a big impact on how the team organizes its offense in its superstar's absence. But there is a big hope that it wouldn't be for a long time. Warriors coach Steve Kerr was relieved after getting the update about his star player's injury.

"It obviously changes everything, our rotations, how we're playing, who we're playing through, so we'll see," Kerr told reporters. "When I heard it was a quad I was actually kind of relieved, better than an ankle or a knee, so hopefully he can recover quickly and be OK. But we've got to hold down the fort."

In Curry's absence, the Warriors' offense is set to take a big hit, forcing Jimmy Butler to take the role of the primary offensive option. The 2022 NBA Finals MVP was having a great season. He is averaging 27.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He was shooting 39.1% from the 3-point line.
