LeBron James scored eight points in the LA Lakers' thrilling 123-120 win over the Toronto Raptors on Thursday. James' production ended a streak of 1,297 games with at least 10 points. The four-time MVP went 4-for-17, including 0-for-5 from deep. He did not have a free-throw attempt in 36 minutes.

James came close to ending the streak a few times this season, scoring 10 points on Monday and 11 in his season-opening debut on Nov. 19. Thursday marked the first time in his 23-year career he missed double digits since Jan. 5, 2007. James had eight points on 3-for-13 shooting in 44 minutes against the Milwaukee Bucks nearly two decades ago.

The NBA's all-time leading scorer got off to a rough start against the Raptors, a harbinger of his shooting woes. He ended the first quarter without a point after going 0-for-5. James finished the first half with four points.

James did not have his shooting touch, but the Raptors deserve praise for their defense. Brandon Ingram, Scottie Barnes, Collin Murray-Boyles and others all had a hand in containing arguably the most consistent and reliable scorer in league history. Toronto's pick-and-roll and switch defense helped slow down James.

LeBron James played key role in Lakers' win despite end to double-digit scoring streak

Although LeBron James had a rough-shooting night, he impacted the game in different areas. James struggled but LA Lakers coach JJ Redick kept him on the floor for nearly the entire fourth quarter.

James' last two points tied the game at 118 apiece with 1:46 remaining. In the final possession of the game, the all-time great could have attempted a potential game-tying shot. Instead, he found Rui Hachimura in the corner for the game-winning 3-pointer.

LeBron James only had eight points but he added 11 assists without any turnover. James had two dimes in the fourth quarter, the last one leading to the game-winning bucket.
