LA Lakers vs. Philadelphia 76ers Game Summary

The LA Lakers continued their three-game road trip on Sunday when they visited the Philadelphia 76ers at Xfinity Mobile Arena. The Lakers were coming off a blowout loss to the Boston Celtics, while the Sixers entered the contest on a three-game win streak.

Coach JJ Redick received a massive boost in the return of Luka Doncic, who missed the last two games due to paternity leave. Redick's starting five featured Doncic, Austin Reaves, LeBron James, Rui Hachimura and Deandre Ayton.

The LA Lakers started the game slowly, allowing the 76ers to build a 10-point lead midway through the first quarter. The Lakers battled back and tied the contest at 30 heading into the second period.

Philly took control once again, earning a seven-point lead at halftime. However, the Lakers countered with a 10-point turnaround in the third quarter to take a three-point advantage into the final quarter.

The game remained close at the halfway point of the fourth period, with James taking over. He scored 10 straight points to put away the Sixers, including a dagger stepback jumpshot with less than 30 seconds remaining.

Maxey made things harder for the Lakers by hitting a 3-pointer on the next possession, but Doncic knocked down two clutch free throws to seal the victory.
