Kon Knueppel's mother, Chari Nordgaard Knueppel, made a worrying confession about her son's matchup against the French star, Rudy Gobert. On Friday, Chari had a conversation with Danielle Stein of WCNC Charlotte. The Hornets rookie's mother expressed pride in her son's historic start in the league.Later, she said that it was hard for her to believe that her son could score over towering centers like Gobert."I think Kon too has overachieved all expectations of him at every level he's been at," she said. "I shouldn't be surprised, but I was worried. In one of the games, I saw Rudy Gobert 7'5" or however big he is, and I'm like, 'how in the world is my little guy gonna score over him?' Not that he would necessarily be going against him specifically.""The size of the bodies out there and that sort of thing. They are quick, athletic, and can jump out of the gym, and you think about my guy, who is skilled as he can be and fundamental and shoot the lights out."While Kon Knueppel's mother mentioned Gobert to be 7-foot-5, the Timberwolves star is 7-foot-1 in reality. The Hornets rookie has faced the French center only once so far this season. Charlotte suffered a 122-105 loss against Minnesota on Nov. 2.Knueppel had a rough night against Gobert as his mother had predicted. He finished with five points, eight rebounds and two assists. However, except for the Timberwolves game, the Hornets' rookie has been a great addition to the squad.
