Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant could make his comeback against the Utah Jazz on Friday. The uber-athletic superstar is listed as questionable on the team's injury report with a right calf injury. Morant has missed the last 10 games owing to the same issue.
A huge update on Morant came on Thursday when he completed a full practice with the team without any restrictions. He didn't suffer any setback, but a final call on his availability for the Jazz game will be known before tip off.
"He (Morant) was able to go through the whole practice today, which is very encouraging," Memphis coach Tuomas Iisalo said. "Now we'll see how his body responds to it, then we can make the decision."
The Grizzlies have played tremendously well without Ja Morant, winning seven of the 10 games in his absence. The franchise has won five of its last six games, and the onus will be on Morant to keep the team's momentum going whenever he is cleared to return.

The challenge for Morant would be to ensure that the Grizzlies continue to play with pace and move the ball as they did in his absence and taste success. Often, Memphis' offense has been guilty of being slow and stagnant with Morant on the side, especially this season.
Meanwhile, the positive update on Morant came at a time when young center Zach Edey was ruled out for at least four weeks with a left ankle stress reaction.
The Grizzlies will also be without Brandon Clarke (right knee surgery recovery), GG Jackson II (NBA G League assignment), Ty Jerome (right calf strain), John Konchar (left thumb UCL tear), Scotty Pippen Jr. (left great toe surgery recovery) and Javon Small (left turf toe).
