Indiana sports superstars Tyrese Haliburton and Caitlin Clark were hit with injuries this season. Haliburton ruptured his Achilles heel in the 2025 NBA Finals while Clark dealt with multiple muscle issues, which limited her to 13 games for the Fever.

In Tyrese Haliburton’s case, he played through a calf strain that resulted in a more serious injury. According to ESPN on Sunday, Daniel Jones “played through what was believed to be a hairline fracture in his left fibula.” Although the fracture was on the opposite leg, Jones still ended with an injury that cut his season short.

Caitlin Clark dealt with nerve issues, particularly a groin strain. Clark tried to keep playing but struggled. The Fever decided to sideline her, hoping for a return before eventually shutting her down for the season in September.

Tyler Haliburton’s Indiana Pacers lost in Game 7 to the OKC Thunder in the 2025 NBA Finals. Without Clark for most of their campaign, the Fever almost reached the WNBA finals. Daniel Jones’ injury could see the Colts, who will have a rookie backup quarterback leading the team, drop out of the playoff race.

Unless traded, Haliburton and Clark will be fixtures in Indy sports. Jones, on a one-year, $14 million deal, becomes an unrestricted free agent after the Colts' season will end.

Tyrese Haliburton and Daniel Jones had similar reactions after suffering major injuries

Roughly seven minutes into Game 7 of the NBA Finals, Tyrese Haliburton tried to drive past Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The Pacers’ superstar point guard crumpled to the floor, writhing in pain. Haliburton repeatedly slapped his fist on the floor as the training staff rushed to him.

Daniel Jones dropped back on Sunday to throw to wide receiver Alec Pierce. After delivering the ball, Jones promptly fell to the ground, clutching his right leg. He stood up, limped for a few steps before dropping to the ground. The Colts’ quarterback immediately took off his helmet and slammed it on the rain-drenched field of EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville.

Like Tyrese Haliburton in June, Jones had to be helped off his feet before exiting.
