The Dallas Mavericks star looks more vulnerable than ever, both in his game and to the chatter outside. But the proud four-time NBA champion has refused to keep his mouth shut against his trolls. Former NBA player Evan Turner recently opened up about his text exchange with the Mavs player after the former trolled him on social media. On Thursday, the former Boston Celtics player appeared on the "Throwbacks" podcast and revealed his exchange with Thompson. "Actually, Klay slid in my DMs the other day, right? Cuz uh because I've been trolling him for like six months, just how he pokes the bear, like you know what I mean?" Turner said. "He did it with the homie Rodney McGruder and with a couple other like lower people."Turner later revealed that after Patrick Beverley and Jason Williams made comments about Klay Thompson's game being impacted because of Megan Thee Stallion, he trolled Thompson with a "they say you tender" comment. "So, I'm just enjoying my day and then before I know it, I get a DM like, "Hey, bro, you good?" And I'm like, "I might have to I might have to beat up a beige dude." Like, you know what I mean? I'm like 'if Clay says anything close to off, I'mma purple that man." After the 102-96 loss, while the Mavericks' players exited to the locker room, Thompson got involved in a trash talk with Morant, who called the four-time champion a bum. After the game, Thompson addressed the altercation with the Memphis Grizzlies star. "It was really just running his mouth, and he's been running his mouth for a long time," Thompson told reporters. "It's funny to run your mouth when you're on the bench. It's kind of the story of his career so far, just leaving us wanting more."We all want to see him out there and do his best, but he's just been letting a lot of other stuff get in the way of that. We need that in the NBA. We need our best players to be out there, and when you're a star, it comes with a great responsibility.
