Furious with the physical contact, Doncic ran into Dunn's face, starting a scuffle. Jaxson Hayes shoved the Clippers guard, while other Lakers players held Doncic back. Dunn was ejected after he appeared to punch Hayes.

This dust-up instantly reminded fans of Doncic's scuffle with Dunn from two years ago. They were on different teams back then as Doncic played for the Mavericks, while Dunn played for the Jazz. In a December 2023 matchup, they engaged in a war of words after the then Jazz guard made contact with Doncic under the rim.

The situation escalated as Dunn pointed a finger in the former Mavericks guard's face, and they had to be separated. Both players received technical fouls for the incident.

While Doncic pleaded his case to the refs, claiming he didn't have a role in the altercation, he indirectly trash-talked to Dunn, which got caught on the announcers' mics.

"I didn't do nothing," Doncic said. "He's just mad I'm busting his a**."

Luka Doncic 'not afraid' of anyone after Kris Dunn altercation

Luka Doncic reflected on his dust-up with Kris Dunn after the game. The Lakers' superstar was unimpressed because of his counterpart's shove, which led to his reaction. Doncic said after the game that he wasn't letting that pass.

"I'm not gonna just stand, you know. I ain't afraid of nobody," Doncic told reporters. "I won't just stand there and let it go ... That's what the game is about. Sometimes it's gonna get physical. There's a lot of trash talk. I live for that, so I love it."

Luka Doncic also promised to repay Jaxson Hayes for standing up for him against Kris Dunn by paying his technical foul fine. The Lakers center got involved without any hesitation as Doncic and Dunn jawed at each other. Hayes even almost got hit due to the scuffle.

Doncic said after the game that he immediately told Hayes he would take care of his fine.

"Yep, I got it. I told him right away," the Lakers superstar said.

Doncic expressed gratitude to Hayes and the Lakers' locker room chemistry, adding:

"Told him right away, 'Thanks for having my back.' That says a lot about him, and that says a lot about this team. Everybody got each other's back."
