This season, Jaylen Brown has taken his scoring production to a different level as he shoulders bigger responsibilities in the absence of his running mate Jayson Tatum. On Saturday, Brown made sure that his competition knew exactly how good he is.

In the first quarter of the Boston Celtics' weekend showdown against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Brown was in an iso situation against Anthony Edwards, another gifted scorer. Pulling out his bag of tricks, the former Finals MVP shook free of Edwards' defense and nailed a fadeaway jumper. Getting this bucket to go, Brown then hit Ant-Man with a "too small" taunt.

Other netizens took the opportunity to weigh in on the debate of whether Brown or Edwards is a better player this season.

"My hot take for the year was that Brown was just as good as Edwards and I got flamed for it. Near identical players down to the stats. Here we are….. and," one netizen commented.

The numbers show that Brown and Edwards are both playing exceptionally well this season. The Celtics star is averaging 28.2 points per game on 49.5% shooting from the field, as well as 5.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists per outing. Meanwhile, the one-time Olympic gold medalist is putting up 28.0 ppg on 47.5% FG shooting, 4.8 rpg, and 3.6 apg.

Interestingly, both the Celtics and the Timberwolves are sporting 10-8 records heading into their Saturday game. For those who are keenly interested in the Brown-Edwards debate, this matchup at Target Center could tip the scales in favor of one young stud.

Jaylen Brown reveals how conversation with Hall of Famer convinced him to stay with Celtics

Earlier this month, Brown made an interesting revelation on one of his livestreams. According to Brown, he'd been contemplating a move overseas in recent years before Basketball Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady convinced him to stay with the Celtics.

"Nah, bro, trust me. Whatever you can do, if you could stay, you've got the opportunity to win, win," Brown quoted McGrady as saying.

Brown went on to call McGrady his "mentor" and "big bro," and he stated that he greatly values his relationship with the seven-time All-Star.
