This past offseason, LeBron James' interest in golf appeared to have picked up as his social media posts have made it clear that this was his new hobby. Recently, a tweet from James contained a shoutout to one highly decorated golfer, who was on the receiving end of some compliments by the King.
On Friday, two-time major winner Nelly Korda was interviewed by Golf Channel's Karen Stupples, who complimented a putt by Korda during the 2025 edition of The Annika. During the interview, Stupples brought up the fact that James had tweeted "helluva putt Nelly" while watching Korda play.
"I actually did see [LeBron] tweeted about my shoes, too," Korda replied. "So it's cool to see all these legends get into the game of golf."

Korda also expressed her delight to play alongside WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark, another basketball icon who has taken a keen interest in golf. This year marks the second time that Clark has participated in The Annika, and in 2024, she took part in both the John Deere Classic and the RSM Classic pro-am.
Even more WNBA athletes were on hand at the 2025 edition of The Annika. When Clark was announced as a participant in this event, her Fever teammates Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull volunteered to be her caddies. Clark, ever the loyal friend, would oblige; Cunningham and Hull then made their appearance at Pelican Golf Club in Florida.
Still, Korda was said to have "giggled" when the subject of James' tweet was brought up. After all these years in the NBA, LBJ continues to leave fellow athletes starstruck.
LeBron James professes love for watching golf videos online: "So cool"
Lakers fans, of course, are still waiting for James to make his season debut in a record-setting Year 23. However, James is still in the process of recovering from his issues with sciatica.
In the meantime, golf has apparently kept LBJ entertained during his time away from hoops.
"I love watching YouTube golf videos!!" James tweeted on Thursday. "Random I know. lol. SO COOL!"
Ironically, some fans are now speculating that James' offseason golf hobby could have led to his sciatica, which has sidelined him for a number of weeks.
