Jason Whitlock fired shots at Kendrick Perkins for his recent remarks on Shedeur Sanders. On Tuesday's episode of the "LGND TLK" podcast, Perkins said that Sanders was the most powerful black man since Barack Obama.

The former Celtics player later clarified that he was not referring to Sanders having any political influence but instead was praising his impact on the field and sports in general.

"Shedeur Sanders is the most powerful black man since 2009,” Perkins said. “You know what happened in 2009? That's when President Obama got elected to office. He's the most powerful black man since 2009."

Perkins' statements might have appealed to Sanders' mother, but they did not resonate with Jason Whitlock. The host of the "Fearless" show called out the former Celtics player for his comments on the Wednesday episode of his podcast. (Timestamp: 6:40)

"So, he is not powerful than LeBron James, he is not more powerful than Steph Curry," Whitlock said. "If we move the black out of it, he is not powerful than Caitlin Clark. He is not powerful than Pat McAfee! He is not powerful than Steven A. Smith. This is lunacy."

Whitlock expressed his initial thoughts on the Perkins' now-viral statement in a post on Tuesday. He shared an image on his timeline featuring Sanders' portrait with the words "Dope and Deranged" written on a template. He mocked Kendrick Perkins in the caption.

"The new Barack Obama," the caption read.

Jason Whitlock featured the same Sanders image he posted on Tuesday on his podcast's episode on Wednesday. He displayed the image on the screen throughout his discussion of the incident.

Sanders remains a popular topic in the sports world after he made his first start for the Browns on Sunday in a 24-10 win against the Las Vegas Raiders. "Coach Prime's" son received warm wishes from NBA legends like LeBron James and Shaquille O'Neal for his first start.

Kendrick Perkins, on the other hand, criticized the Brown coach, Kevin Stefanski, for dishing out a three-word praise for Shedeur Sanders after he helped the Browns secure a win on his first start.
