Jaylen Brown was the Boston Celtics’ biggest contributor in a dominant 125-105 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, recording 30 points. Despite his impressive performance, Brown went viral on social media after a playful comment from the Celtics’ announcer poked fun at the former Finals MVP.

During the second quarter, Brown finished an impressive fastbreak with a strong layup. Reacting to the same, the Celtics announcer made a surprising comment that quickly spread across social media. Instead of praising the play, the announcer took a lighthearted jab at Brown’s much-talked-about hair loss issue.

“Went flying to the basket like he’ll be flying to Turkey at some point this season,” the announcer said.

Earlier this season, Jaylen Brown had an awkward moment against the New York Knicks. During that game, while being defended by OG Anunoby, Brown’s head brushed against OG’s chest, leaving a noticeable streak of hair dye on the latter’s jersey.

Instead of pretending it never happened, Brown addressed the situation. He brought up the incident during a live Twitch stream, laughing about it with his viewers. At one point, he even joked about calling LeBron James to ask if he should make a trip to Turkey, a country famously known for hair transplants.

Jaylen Brown issues a stern warning to the league following win over Cavaliers

With Jayson Tatum sidelined and Kristaps Porzingis, along with Jrue Holiday, no longer on the roster, many people thought the Boston Celtics would take this season to regroup and aim for a lottery pick in the 2026 draft. However, that hasn’t happened at all.

After starting the season with three straight losses, the Celtics have turned things around with back-to-back wins over the New Orleans Pelicans on October 27 and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.

Jaylen Brown has stepped up as the team’s leader and made it clear that the Celtics are not backing down from anyone. He sent a strong message to the rest of the league after Wednesday’s game.

“Great win tonight,” Brown told the reporters on Wednesday. “But this is not our peak. We got a long way to go, and I'm looking forward to getting there.”

Brown has been outstanding so far, averaging 26.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game while shooting an impressive 52.2% from the field through five games.

Boston is currently No. 10 in the Eastern Conference with a 2-3 record. Still, with upcoming matchups against the Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards and Orlando Magic, they have a real opportunity to climb higher in the standings.
