Despite having a subpar best performance against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, Kevin Durant still managed to become one of the biggest talking points on social media. What grabbed everyone’s attention was his interaction with a courtside heckler at the FedEx Forum.

In the third quarter, Durant finally had enough of a fan who just kept chirping at him. He turned and responded directly.

Durant has always been known for clapping back at his naysayers, whether it happens online or on the court. So seeing him clap back like this did not come as a shock to most fans. However, the incident blew up instantly, with users erupting with reactions.

“Stop he’s so funny !!!!!!!!!!!!!” @rubyrohdes said.
“my goat😂😂😂😂,” @imrichoffline1k wrote.
“I love this old KD he just be hooping talking shit 😂,” @ITSS_LANDOO said.

“😂 KD is one-of-a-kind,” @fortez007 said.
“Already know he f**ked up everyone’s ticket 🤣🤣,” @gb986745 said.
“Lmfaooooo he live tweetin in game,” @youngjonath_n said.

Aside from that heated moment, Durant’s night on the court was pretty quiet. He finished with only 11 points on 27.8% FG and grabbed four rebounds. Despite his lowest scoring game of the season, the Houston Rockets prevailed.

Backed by Amen Thompson’s 28-point performance, the Rockets clinched a 124-109 win, extending their winning streak to five.

Kevin Durant locks horns with Draymond Green over “offense vs defense” discourse

In one episode of Netflix’s Starting Five, Kevin Durant talked about defense and controversially stated that it is the easier part of the game. He claimed that just anyone can “slide left and right and contest the shot.”

Draymond Green expressed his dissatisfaction with the take. He argued that Durant’s championships in Golden State were heavily influenced by how strong the team was on defense.

“Those who don’t believe defense is as valuable as it is, they simply just don’t win,” Green said. “I don’t think anyone’s ever really been hell-bent on caring about the opinion of those that don’t win, because your opinion equals zero.”
“He won here, (and) the defense here was…,” Green continued.

Durant did not stay quiet. He replied on X to the circulating quote and highlighted the importance of the Warriors’ offense.

“And the offense was???”

The back-and-forth has garnered plenty of reactions from fans and analysts. However, there seems to be no end to this long-standing argument. But, this discourse should make the upcoming Kevin Durant-Draymond Green head-to-head more interesting.
