Giannis Antetokounmpo helped the Milwaukee Bucks snap a seven-game losing streak in the 116-99 home win against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday. The two-time MVP in the process crossed the 21,000 career points mark and spoke on eventually becoming the league’s all-time scorer.

Antetokounmpo in his speech joked about having five more kids while he attempts to earn that feat.

“And I think getting to the top of the scoring list is not six, seven, or eight years away,” Antetokounmpo said. “I think it's in my opinion I think it's four years away, four, five years away, four and a half years away.”

“But hey, again that's too far away,” he added. “Four, five years from now, I might have four other kids. I don't know if my wife might have left me. Who knows, maybe four, five years from now, four, five years before this, I had zero. I didn't have kids, and I have kids now.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Mariah Riddlesprigger got married in 2024. They have four children together, two boys and two girls. The couple expressed a desire for a large family, where his wife, in a livestream, stated that they don’t think they’re done with children.

The Greek Freak was one point shy of making it back-to-back 30-point games. He recorded 29 points in 15 minutes of game play alongside eight rebounds and two assists. Additionally, he shot 80% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc.

Giannis Antetokounmpo still trails the record scorer LeBron James (42,250) in the scoring list. He however earns the distinction of being the sixth youngest player to score 21,000 points behind James, Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and Michael Jordan.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was full of praise for teammate Ryan Rollins after his performance in the Bucks’ win against the Nets. He asserted that Rollins’ ascent is special, while praising his work ethic.

Rollins finished the game with 10 points, two rebounds and four assists. He joined the Bucks after previous stints with the Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors and Washington Wizards. He initially joined Milwaukee on a two-way deal in 2024, which was converted to a standard contract on March 4.

The Bucks then signed the former Toledo star to a three-year $12 million contract on July 8. He is averaging 17.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game for the Bucks this season.
