Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo will reportedly be sidelined between one and two weeks due to a low-grade left groin strain.Antetokounmpo underwent an MRI on Tuesday to determine the severity of the injury he sustained during Monday's 118-106 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. According to NBA insider Shams Charania, the Bucks' star avoided a significant injury, and the MRI results could be seen as a "positive outcome."Antetokounmpo sustained his injury with about three minutes left in the first half. The nine-time NBA All-Star drove the ball against Cleveland's Jarrett Allen. He missed the layup and fell awkwardly on the court, immediately reaching his groin area. Antetokounmpo was clearly in pain in the subsequent play, and once the play stopped, he went straight to the locker room.Early in the second half, Milwaukee announced that Antetokounmpo would be ruled out of the rest of the game. He finished with 14 points and five rebounds on 6-for-10 shooting in 13 minutes.Through 13 games, Antetokounmpo is averaging 31.2 points, 10.8 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game on 62.9% shooting.Doc Rivers on team's outlook with Giannis Antetokounmpo sidelined: "We'll be ready"Milwaukee Bucks coach Doc Rivers said that his team is prepared to execute a game plan without star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo in the lineup. Rivers shared his comments following Monday's loss, wherein they dropped to 8-7."We got some work to do," Rivers said (Timestamp: 1:11). "There's always a silver lining. ... I don't know what it is. It doesn't look good right now. If we got (Kevin Porter Jr.) out and Giannis out, that's not great for our team, but we're going to either find somebody or find something to run that will pay dividends later."And that's the stretch that we're about to go through. We'll be ready."In the two games that Giannis Antetokounmpo sat out this season, Milwaukee is 1-1. If the two-time NBA MVP is out for the next two weeks, he could miss up to seven games. The earliest he could return after a two-week absence would be on Dec. 3 against the Eastern Conference-leading Detroit Pistons.Bucks center Jericho Sims, who started the second half in place of Antetokounmpo on Monday, is expected to have an increased role. In addition, reserve forward Bobby Portis will be leaned upon to fill the void offensively. Milwaukee will return to action on Thursday against the Philadelphia 76ers.
