Netflix’s “Last Chance U” coach Jason Brown did not agree with NFL reporter Jemele Hill’s views on Lane Kiffin’s future decision with Ole Miss. Kiffin has been heavily linked to LSU while his current team has locked its first-ever College Football Playoff berth.

Despite the success, Kiffin’s evasiveness regarding his future has led to frustration among the fans. On Saturday, Hill voiced her feelings on the subject on social media, suggesting the coach’s behavior was “ruining” college football.

“So Lane Kiffin turning his job decision into a spectacle isn’t ruining college football but athletes leveraging their talent for financial security, is?” Hill asked. “I’m just trying to keep up.”

Jason Brown did not mince his words while replying to Hill, suggesting that the situation is similar to LeBron James’ “The Decision.”

“LeBron decision was ok tho right? STFU make me a sammich,” Brown wrote.

In 2010, LeBron James featured in a special on ESPN to announce his decision to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat. The spectacle led to mixed reactions from fans.

After an extended period of waiting, fans are expected to learn about Kiffin’s decision to leave or stay at Ole Miss on Sunday.

Cam Newton compares Ole Miss’ Lane Kiffin saga to LeBron James’ “The Decision”

Coach Jason Brown is not the only one who believes the Lane Kiffin saga is similar to LeBron James’ decision in 2010. Speaking on ESPN’s “First Take” on Friday, Newton expressed a similar sentiment, drawing a parallel between the situations.

“I don’t have a problem with how he’s handled it. I think this is college football’s version of LeBron James, with the infamous quote, ‘I’m taking my talents to South Beach,'” said Newton. “Everybody is waiting. Everybody is impacted off of what Lane Kiffin is going to do.”

Newton continued, urging Kiffin to stay at Ole Miss, where he will leave a larger legacy if he wins:

“I would challenge this to this particular individual. Go somewhere where you’re the greatest of all time as a coach. Don’t find yourself going to another school and you’re just another good coach.”

With the Egg Bowl out of the way, a decision regarding Kiffin’s future could be announced at any time.
