Phoenix Suns' Dillon Brooks faced his former team Houston Rockets, on Monday, losing to them, 114-92 in a lopsided game. While not much happened throughout the game, Brooks expressed his frustration about the Rockets' defensive style following the Suns' loss. According to Brooks, the Rockets flopped, faked fouls, and got away with numerous infractions throughout the Suns' loss. He even compared the officiating to FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, which sanctions the Olympics and the World Cup. "I’ve never seen so many flops being rewarded on the other side. It honestly felt like I was in a FIBA game,” the Canadian forward said. "Playing basketball in FIBA where you just get rewarded for flopping." Brooks said the Rockets' constant flopping killed the Suns' momentum throughout the game, hampering their chances for a win. "That killed every single run we had. Couldn't be physical when the Rockets were physical, grabbing and holding," he said. "Then when we tried to do it, it was called right away. Got to fix that somehow some way, got to get in the lab and watch these things because it's like every night."Brooks had a team-high 29 points in the losing effort for the Suns, whose squad dropped to an 11-7 record this season. Brooks was part of the massive seven-team trade that brought him to the Suns and shipped Kevin Durant to the Rockets. The Rockets are currently among the top teams in the stacked Western Conference, owning the fourth spot with an 11-4 record. Before joining the Suns, Brooks played two seasons with the Rockets from 2023 to 2025. Last year, the Rockets finished the regular season as the second seeds but lost in the first round against the Golden State Warriors. Dillon Brooks gets great respect from former head coach Ime UdokaAmong those who knew Dillon Brooks' value to a team was Rockets head coach Ime Udoka, who coached the three-and-D player for two years in Houston. According to Udoka, he still has great respect for Brooks, whom he praised his competitive edge. "He's a guy that I love and have a ton of respect for," Udoka said before the Rockets-Suns matchup. "You see the value that he's bringing here, so I didn't mind that edge that he brought (to the Rockets)."The two teams will meet again in December to continue their season series. For now, the Suns will move on to face the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
