LeBron James is in his 23rd season, and his final contract year in L.A. While fans dream of a Cleveland return, former Browns QB Johnny Manziel believes the choice ultimately lies with James’ agent, Rich Paul.

Manziel expressed his views on the subject during an interview with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson on Sunday, while praising Paul and his list of peers.

"I would like for him to (return)," Manziel said. "The way they move and the way they are, Maverick and Rich and that whole crew. They are going to make the best decision for them and what they want to do."

The former Browns quarterback continued to praise the agent, while claiming they could make any deal happen for LeBron.

"They have the ability and opportunity to do any and everything they want," Manziel continued. "If that's go to Cleveland or wherever that may be, they are on top of that. They are some of the most genuine, smartest people on the face of the earth, and I am very fortunate for my time that I did spend with them."

LeBron James is in the final year of his two-year $101,355,998 contract with the Lakers and will be a free agent this offseason. Although many have speculated this could be his final year, James has yet to confirm it and is likely to play another season in the NBA.

Though LeBron has been linked to several teams, a return to Cleveland remains the dream scenario. Drafted by the Cavs in 2003, he delivered the franchise’s lone title in 2016 before departing for the Lakers in 2018.

Rich Paul delivers his opinion on LeBron James possibly losing an insane NBA streak

Across his 23-year career, LeBron James has made an All-NBA team every season, one of his most remarkable streaks. But that run is in jeopardy this year after he missed the start of the 2025–26 season with sciatica.

His agent, Rich Paul, delivered his opinion on James possibly losing this insane streak, revealing the only way he could make it to the All-NBA team this year.

"Look, at 41 years of age, I hope he is not playing back-to-backs. But at the same time, for him to make the All-NBA team and things like that, he can’t miss that many more games,” Rich Paul said via ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.

James can only miss two more games this season if he wants to reach the 65-game minimum needed for postseason awards.
