During a fast-break sequence, Doncic found himself defending a 4-on-1 and somehow still managed to prevent the 76ers from scoring. An image of the play was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by a fan who mocked Philly for missing an easy basket.

"Sixers didn’t score here 😂," the fan captioned the post.

The tweet quickly drew more reactions, with a fan jumping in to poke fun at the 76ers.

While some mocked Philadelphia, many recognized Doncic's strong defensive performance, suggesting he could be a candidate for Defensive Player of the Year.

The sequence unfolded in the first half, when Paul George pushed the ball in transition with Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe and Dominick Barlow filling the lanes. With Doncic as the lone defender, he held his position and didn’t fall for any cuts, forcing George to dump the ball to Maxey at the last second.

The guard couldn’t get a clean look at the rim, dribbled back out, and settled for a three-pointer that LeBron James grabbed with ease. The play summed up the 76ers’ offensive struggles on the night as the Lakers outscored them by four points.

The loss snapped the 76ers’ three-game win streak, while the Lakers wrapped up their three-game East Coast road trip with a solid 2-1 record.

During the post-game conference, Luka Doncic reflected on the Lakers' improved second-half defense.

"I think it was just physicality," Doncic said (Timestamp: 4:31). "The start wasn’t as good as it should’ve been, but in the last six minutes of the first quarter we established our defense ... They have great players and great scorers, so we just tried to play our own game."
