In the second quarter, Brooks, who scored 23 points in the first half, had a daring taunt for James. The Suns' forward broke away with a fastbreak dunk before shrugging his shoulders, the same way James does it.

James had 10 points and three assists on 31 minutes of playing time as Luka Doncic led the Lakers with 38 points and 11 rebounds. James' output kept his double-digit scoring streak alive, as it is now 1,297 consecutive regular-season games.

Suns star Devin Booker played just the first quarter against the Lakers but was ruled out of the rest of the game due to a groin injury.

The loss dropped the Lakers to 15-5 but stayed in the second spot in the Western Conference. Meanwhile, the Suns stand at the seventh seed with a 13-9 slate.

It also ended the Lakers' seven-game winning streak, which propelled them among the best teams in the West.

Suns' Dillon Brooks takes shot at the Houston Rockets for so much flopping

Dillon Brooks has been known for being vocal on the court. After their loss against the Houston Rockets last week, Brooks took a shot at the Rockets for flopping and foul-baiting, comparing it to when he plays during FIBA games.

“I’ve never seen so many flops being rewarded on the other side,” he said. “It honestly felt like I was in a FIBA game. Like playing basketball in FIBA, where you just get rewarded for flopping. That killed every single run."
"Couldn’t be physical, but the Rockets were physical, grabbing and holding. And when we tried to do it, there were calls right away. Got to fix that somehow, someway. They got to get in the lab and watch these things because that’s like every night," he added.

The Suns have won five of their last eight games. They will again face the Rockets in Houston on Friday, Dec. 5.
