A lot has happened since the LeBron James and Drake beef started. While the Canadian singer has dissed the LA Lakers star one more than one occasion, especially during his concerts, James has never vocally addressed their beef until Thursday.
The four-time NBA champion finally addressed the beef in an interview with Complex's Speedy Morman. The journalist asked about the "status" of their relationship during the interview, and James clarified that, irrespective of what happened, he will always have respect for Drake.
"Always wish him the best," James said. "Obviously, [we're] at different right now. He is doing his thing, I'm doing mine. But it's always love for sure."
The beef seemingly started when LeBron James, along with other NBA stars, attended Kendrick Lamar's "Pop Out" concert in Los Angeles. The Lakers star was seen dancing to Lamar's diss song "Not Like Us," which was taken by many as him siding with Lamar.

Since last year, Drake has, on many occasions, dissed LeBron James during his various performances. Earlier this year, during his "Anita Max Wynn Tour" in Australia, Drake tweaked the "How I go from 6 to 23 like I’m LeBron?" verse from "Non Stop" to "How I go from 6 to 23 but not LeBron, man." It was the Canadian rapper's first shot at James.
Drake's beef with the Lakers star became clear in July earlier this year. The "Feel No Ways" singer covered LeBron James' Fighting Irish tattoo with OKC Thunder star Shai Gilgeaous Alexander's jersey.
Jaleel White gives his take on LeBron James and Drake beef
When LeBron James showed up at Kendrick Lamar's concert in LA, fans were stunned to see the Lakers star giving his symbolic support to the singer. Given the long-standing relationship between Drake and James, it was a shocking move from the NBA superstar.
According to Family Matters star Jaleel White, James' support for Lamar was based on a human level.
"There are some celebrities who are drawn to what's hot," the Hollywood actor said. "And then there's another celebrity that is drawn to what serves them on a human level. I think [LeBron] was drawn to what was extremely hot at the time."
"There's certain people, I don't care how hot their event is, if I don't jive with what they are, I ain't going in there. It could be the hottest thing going, but what they stand for is not what represents me, or there’s a conflict of interest, I'm just not going to go."
Now that it is clear that there is still love and respect from LeBron James, the fans will hope for both to squash their beef, because, honestly, the world looked better with them being friends.
