Since January 6, 2007, LeBron had scored in double digits in every single game he played. That incredible run lasted 1,297 games. Tonight at Scotiabank Arena, it finally came to an end. Seeing this streak come to an end left many fans disappointed.

As soon as the game ended, some fans reacted with frustration and disbelief. News also claimed that Draymond Green was so upset about LeBron’s streak ending that he punched his own coach.

This story gained attention in no time, but it turned out to be completely made up. It originated from a parody account called @NBACentel, which is infamous for spreading fake news for entertainment. No such incident involving Draymond Green and Steve Kerr ever happened.

Draymond Green was dealing with his own problems on Thursday. The Warriors' game against Philadelphia started around the same time as the Lakers. Green had already played despite missing the birth of his child, and he injured his right foot early in the game. He logged nearly nine minutes before being taken out and did not return. To make things worse, the Warriors ended up losing 99-98.

LeBron James sacrificed 1,297-game 10-point streak

LeBron James’ streak of scoring at least 10 points in 1,297 straight games is one of the most remarkable records in NBA history. But in the dying seconds of the Lakers-Raptors clash, he pushed the streak to the side and focused entirely on helping his side win.

With the score tied at 120-120, James had the chance to go for the game-winning shot and reach his 10-point mark at the same time. He even had Immanuel Quickley, a much smaller defender, guarding him, which would have made it easier for him to take the final shot.

Instead, LeBron James trusted his instincts and passed the ball to a completely open Rui Hachimura. It turned out to be the right call. Hachimura went on to knock down the corner three-pointer at the buzzer, resulting in the Lakers' win.
