Since the entire Chris Paul situation blew up on Wednesday, the NBA community has heard from Clippers head coach Ty Lue and president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank. Fans, of course, have been waiting to hear the version of the story from the Point God himself. On Friday, Taylor Rooks of NBA on Prime asked insider Chris B. Haynes if he had any insights on Paul's next moves. In response, Haynes whipped out his phone and read a text message coming straight from CP3."He said, 'I'm just staying ready. I'm hooping right now. I don't [know] what's next. I'm still scarred by it all. Still processing everything. But I'm staying ready,'" Haynes read from his phone. On the one hand, it's not surprising at all to hear the 21-year veteran staying busy as he hopes to be picked up by another team. Weeks ago, Paul had announced that the 2025-26 campaign would be his final season in the NBA.On the other hand, fans and pundits alike are still reeling from the Clippers' shocking decision to let go of Paul. Reportedly, Frank had a lengthy conversation with Paul in the wee hours of Wednesday, after which the 12-time All-Star no longer joined his teammates on their trip to Atlanta. Instead, as he informed the world via a conspicuous Instagram story, Paul was flown home. With around four months left of regular season action, it's plausible that CP3 will still be able to join another team, sooner or later. While there's no telling how many teams would still be interested in the 40-year-old court general, he appears to be maintaining an active regimen in order to be ready for a return to the hardcourt."I'm disappointed in the Clippers organization": Chris Paul's former teammate opens up on fiasco surrounding 12x All-StarMeanwhile, several NBA players have spoken out against the Clippers for the way they have handled the situation.Blake Griffin, a teammate of Paul's from the "Lob City" Clipper days, used his platform as an analyst on Prime to dish out criticism towards his former team."I'm disappointed for Chris Paul but I'm disappointed in the Clippers organization," Griffin said. "I talked to him today, no communication with Steve Ballmer and that's like the disappointing thing for me."ClutchPoints @ClutchPointsLINKBlake Griffin on the Clippers sending Chris Paul home: "I'm disappointed for Chris Paul but I'm disappointed in the Clippers organization... I talked to him today, no communication with Steve Ballmer and that's like the disappointing thing for me."This is a strong message of empathy from Griffin, whose dunks (along with Paul's masterful assists) gave the NBA community a reason to give the "Lob City" moniker to the 2010s Clippers under Doc Rivers.
