The three-time MVP has been dealing with a left wrist injury he suffered in the second quarter against the Spurs on Nov. 29, resulting in a 139-136 defeat. The Nuggets listed him as questionable for the next matchup with the Phoenix Suns, the second night of a back-to-back, but he still played.

Jokic totaled a near triple-double with 26 points on 7 of 7 shooting, nine rebounds and 10 assists in 31 minutes during the 130-112 win. Denver’s staff is wary of overworking their superstar, as their season completely depends on his availability, and they want to keep him healthy for a deep playoff run.

Jokic, who will be turning 31 in two months, is putting up MVP-like numbers, averaging a triple-double on a nightly basis with a staggering 28.9 points, 12.4 rebounds and 10.9 assists while shooting 63.7% from the field and 36.3% from 3-point range. The Nuggets center is in pole position to win the coveted award for a record fourth time. He’s yet to miss a game this season.

He’s listed as probable, meaning he’s most likely to suit up for the Mavericks clash unless downgraded to questionable before tipoff.

Apart from Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets have listed three more players. Aaron Gordon continues to miss time with a right hamstring strain. Christian Braun also remains ruled out due to a left ankle sprain, with his return not expected until January 2026 at the earliest.

Julian Strawther is believed to be nearing a return from lower-back injury management, but this game comes a little too early, as he’s been ruled out. Meanwhile, Bruce Brown, who was listed as questionable in the previous game with a right knee sprain, is off the injury report.
