Malik Beasley's career came crumbling down after he was part of a federal gambling investigation in June. This had a major impact on Beasley, as he lost the opportunity to sign a reported $42 million contract with the Pistons.

He also lost his sneaker deal with Xtep. This came months after he had endured turmoil in his personal life, with his wife, Montana Yoo, having filed for a separation in March.

However, Beasley has not let the setbacks hold him back. On Tuesday, he announced a new "Just Hoop" wristband on his Instagram account. The former Pistons guard posted a picture of himself with an emotional caption.

"“Just Hoop” @flymb5 wristband is becoming my everyday staple. I truly want to just hoop.. no training camp to build chemistry off of the season we just had, 42 mil gone, jersey # gone, defamation, a divorce, lost my shoe deal, and at that I can’t even explain anything yet," he wrote.

Malik Beasley is currently an unrestricted free agent.

Malik Beasley could be a steal for teams struggling offensively

Malik Beasley could be a steal for teams that have been struggling offensively this season. The former Pistons guard was one of the best shooters in the league last season. He shot 41.0% from the 3-point line and 43.0% from the field while averaging 16.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. He played all 82 games last season, though he started just 18.

There is a chance for teams to sign the former Pistons guard to a veteran minimum contract. Teams like the Pacers, Pelicans, and Mavericks could use his services to bolster their offenses, given that they are the lowest-scoring teams in the league early in the season.
