Dalton Knecht got another opportunity to prove himself to JJ Redick and the Lakers staff amid trade noise against the Hawks on Saturday. The second-year forward was the first player off the bench despite his struggles this season.
Knecht finished with 14 points, four rebounds, one assist, one turnover and one foul on 5 of 11 shots, including 2 of 5 from 3 and 2 of 2 from the free throw line. He had a plus-minus of +4.

Knecht returned late in the third as the Lakers ran out of fumes with the Hawks taking a 90-65 lead. The forward made his first 3 of the night, and it was his only highlight of the quarter. Knecht had a solid fourth quarter in which he dropped nine points on 3 of 6 shots and two free throws. He added a couple of rebounds, too. While it didn't mean much as the Lakers lost 122-102, that late burst may have given Knecht significant confidence in his bid to revive his value to the Lakers.
