Anthony Davis won't return to the Dallas Mavericks' lineup on Monday against the Milwaukee Bucks. The 10-time NBA All-Star continues to be on the team's injury report, but has been upgraded to questionable. Davis has missed the last five games due to a left calf strain.
He suffered the injury against the Indiana Pacers on Oct. 30. Before that contest, Davis was listed as probable due to bilateral Achilles tendinopathy. He suited up nonetheless and went down with a different injury in the first quarter after landing hard on his feet following a shot attempt.
Anthony Davis' potential return could've given the Mavericks a massive boost in their attempt at win No. 4, and second in a row. His presence could've provided them an added cushion against two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who has been on a tear, averaging 33.8 points, 12.3 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 1.1 blocks, while shooting 63.1%, including 50.0% from 3.
Meanwhile, Davis' frontcourt partners, Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively II, are also on the injury report. Gafford is a game time decision due to a right ankle sprain. He left Friday's contest against the Memphis Grizzlies because of this issue. Nevertheless, he was active in Washington on Saturday.

Gafford carried a questionable injury designation into that contest, but suited up, and that could be the case against the Bucks.
On the other hand, Lively is doubtful for the second consecutive game. He's been dealing with a right knee sprain since Oct. 27, playing only three games. Lively remains unlikely to suit up unless the Mavericks upgrade his status before tip off.
Kyrie Irving and Dante Exum round out the five-player injury report for the Dallas Mavericks. Neither has made their season debut as Irving is recovering from an ACL surgery, while Exum is managing a right knee injury.
