The Dallas Mavericks enter Saturday's clash against the Washington Wizards, with star forward Anthony Davis missing for the fifth straight game. Davis has been injured since Oct. 29 after injuring his left calf against the Indiana Pacers.

Before that clash, he was probable, citing bilateral Achilles tendinopathy. Davis sparked speculation around his return from the calf issue before Friday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. He was upgraded to doubtful but downgraded to out hours before tip off.

Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said he was unsure about Davis' status for Washington. Nevertheless, he claimed his star player was in good spirits and doing "fine" health-wise. Davis was ultimately ruled out for the Wizards game.

Meanwhile, Cooper Flagg remains available for the Mavericks. The No. 1 pick has yet to miss a game. His search for a breakout outing continued on Friday after managing only 12 points and two assists offensively on 50.0% shooting in a 118-104 loss. Flagg will play a 10th straight game on Saturday.

Alongside Anthony Davis, Dereck Lively II is among the other active rotation players who started the season but have been injured lately. Lively has been sidelined since Oct. 27 with a knee injury. According to the latest update, the former lottery pick is doing on-court work and likely to return next week, after missing his seventh consecutive game on Saturday.

The Dallas Mavericks' alternate option at center, Daniel Gafford, could have also missed Saturday's clash. The big man left Friday's clash against Memphis with right ankle soreness. Jason Kidd had the same update for Davis regarding Gafford, suggesting it's a day-to-day issue.

However, Gafford was upgraded to available.

Kyrie Irving and Dante Exum will remain out. Irving is recovering from an ACL surgery and Exum is managing a knee injury.

Klay Thompson was a late addition to the injury report, citing illness.
