The Dallas Mavericks released a seven-player injury report headlined by Cooper Flagg for Wednesday's home game against the New York Knicks. The No. 1 pick has been dealing with a right thumb splint since the Mavericks' Nov. 10 111-105 win at the Washington Wizards.

Flagg injured himself while dunking the ball. He has worn protective gear to avoid further damage to his thumb. Flagg is expected to wear it for the next four to six weeks. However, the injury has yet to limit him from playing a game. Flagg was initially listed as available concerning this injury.

However, the Mavericks downgraded him to questionable, citing an illness. Flagg could miss his first game if his health doesn't improve closer to tip off.

Dallas' other two major injury updates are regarding Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively II's availabilities. The center duo missed Monday's back-to-back at the Minnesota Timberwolves, which resulted in a 120-96 loss for the Dallas Mavericks.

Gafford didn't play after reaggravating his ankle injury in overtime on Sunday in the 138-133 win over the Portland Trail Blazers. Meanwhile, Lively, who was two games into his return from a right knee injury, was rested. They are both listed as probable against the Knicks and likely to suit up.

Caleb Martin was a late addition to the injury report. The Mavericks have listed him as questionable, citing illness.

Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, Ryan Nembhard and Dante Exum round off the Mavericks' injury report. Davis is out for at least a week due to a left calf strain, which he sustained on Oct. 29 in the 107-105 against the Indiana Pacers.

Meanwhile, rookie Nembhard will miss his fifth straight game due to a left knee sprain. Irving and Exum remain sidelined amid their recovery from knee injuries. Both have yet to make their season debut. There's no timetable available for either player.
