Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks locked horns against Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets in their seventh regular-season game on Monday. Flagg once again led the Mavericks' starting lineup in Anthony Davis' absence. The former Duke phenom was joined by Max Christie, Klay Thompson, Daniel Gafford and P.J. Washington.It was a tale of two halves for Flagg, who dominated in the first half but struggled in the second. He made five of his six shots before half time and missed all four attempts after the break.In the end, Cooper Flagg finished with 12 points on 5 of 10 shooting, including 2 of 5 from 3-point range. The rookie got off to a solid start offensively and scored seven quick points on a perfect 3 of 3 shooting from the field. He finished the first quarter with nine points, three rebounds and one assist.The Mavericks rookie showed little aggression in the second quarter, managing to take only a single shot during the period. He banked in a 3-pointer and had a smile on his face after getting lucky.At half time, Cooper Flagg had 12 points on 5 of 6 shooting, including 2 of 3 from beyond the arc. He also recorded three rebounds, two assists and one steal in 17 minutes.The 6-foot-9 forward struggled after half time. He attempted two shots in the third quarter and failed to add to his tally of 12 first-half points. Despite no significant offensive contribution from Flagg, the Mavericks trailed by just three points heading into the final quarter.Flagg remained cold in the final period as well and missed two more shots. His failure to translate a hot first-half performance into a good second-half display led to the Mavericks' fifth loss of the season.
