Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks matched up against the Milwaukee Bucks in a blockbuster regular-season game on Monday. Anthony Davis remained out for Dallas, leaving a heavy weight of expectations on Flagg's shoulder once again. The former Duke phenom started the game alongside P.J. He was locked in defensively, recording two steals in the opening period alone.The 6-foot-9 continued to be efficient and effective in the second quarter. He remained poised and played at his own pace, which worked out superbly for Dallas. He added six more points to his tally in the second quarter, while his defense didn't allow the Bucks any easy scoring opportunities.At halftime, Cooper Flagg had 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including 0-of-2 from beyond the arc, and 4-of-6 from the free-throw line. He also recorded five rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block in 17 minutes.Flagg knocked down his first 3-pointer of the game in the third quarter. He scored seven points in the period and pushed his tally to 19, with his offensive execution shining through.The Mavericks rookie was fantastic in the final frame and made big plays down the stretch. Flagg attacked Antetokounmpo and finished through the contest at the rim to put Dallas ahead 113-112 with 28.7 seconds remaining. Despite the rookie's brilliance, the Mavericks couldn't close out the game and suffered a heartbreaking defeat.
