The Cleveland Cavaliers' injury bug to start the 2025-26 NBA season could come to an end on Wednesday after major updates on Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen's returns emerged. The duo is in contention to play against the Philadelphia 76ers. Garland will make his season debut after spending the first two weeks on the sidelines due to a toe surgery recovery.

Meanwhile, Allen hasn't played since Oct. 29 after fracturing his fourth finger on his left hand. Ahead of Wednesday's contest against the Sixers, the Cavaliers have officially listed Garland and Allen as questionable. On paper, it means they are 50-50 to play and will be game time decisions.

However, according to ESPN's Shams Charania's reporting from Tuesday, Darius Garland is going to suit up barring any major setbacks. Jarrett Allen could remain a game time decision as his official status suggests.

The other positive update for the Cavaliers is that shooting guard Sam Merrill is potentially returning. Similar to Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen, Merrill is listed as questionable. He last played on Oct. 28 against Detroit and has missed time due to a right hip contusion.

Max Strus could be the only rotation player out for Cleveland as he continues to recover from left foot surgery and remains without a timetable for return.

Chris Livingstone is the other player mentioned, but assigned to the Cleveland Cavaliers' G League team and not injured.

The Cavaliers are heavy favorites with oddsmakers placing them on a -9.5-point spread and -400 money line.

Cleveland is much healthier and fresher compared to Philadelphia, which is without Joel Embiid and Paul George and playing on the second night of a back-to-back.
