Former NBA star Carmelo Anthony believes Anthony Davis will receive the same treatment that Chris Paul received. The NBA was surprised on Wednesday when the LA Clippers released Paul before their game against the Atlanta Hawks. The veteran guard was set to have his farewell tour during the 2025-26 NBA season.Despite Paul's history with the franchise, the Clippers still pulled the plug on his tenure this year. Before he returned to LA, CP3 was the team's best player for six seasons. With everything that has happened with Paul, Anthony believes that other NBA stars will be treated the same way. The former New York Knicks star brought up the point on Wednesday's episode of "7PM in Brooklyn." He mentioned that it will happen to stars Russell Westbrook, DeMar DeRozan and Anthony Davis.“We got russ, it’s happenening to Russ,” Anthony said. “It’s about to happen to DeMar DeRozan, it’s about to happen to all of these n****s — AD, it’s about to happen. The next trade that AD happens, it’s going downhill from here. This is what’s about to happen.“It’s unfortunate that that trend, I understand it, but the way that our legends of the game get treated is f***ed up.”Davis had a similar taste of betrayal from a franchise last season. The LA Lakers traded the big man to the Dallas Mavericks for Luka Doncic. Despite helping the team win a championship in 2020, he was still part of the biggest trade in NBA history. Now, trade rumors around Anthony Davis have not stopped. After the Mavericks fired general manager Nico Harrison early in the season, speculation has arisen for Davis' future with the franchise.Anthony Davis has been linked to the Chicago BullsAlthough it's a new season for Anthony Davis and the Dallas Mavericks, the NBA star is still part of trade rumors. The Chicago Bulls had an early season success. However, they've slowed down a bit since then and are 9-12 this year. The Bulls are looking at the trade market to pair Davis with Josh Giddey. According to ESPN's Jamal Collier, the Bulls have had "internal discussions" regarding a potential deal with AD."The Bulls have had internal discussions about how to proceed, including conversations about Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis, sources told ESPN, whom they believe could help the team’s porous rim protection and defensive interior," Collier wrote. However, Collier reported that the Bulls are not interested in trading their young core. The franchise isn't interested in blowing up what they have for one star player.
