Meanwhile, Carmelo Anthony said he has allowed his son to continue to build his own legacy with Syracuse.

“You talk about legacy, and you talk about family dynamics, you talk about passing things on down to your family, to your kids," the former New York Knicks star said. "And this is something that we're passing, and we're passing the baton to him. Now whatever he do with it, he do with it, and that’s on him.”

Carmelo also said that Kiyan has now understood the weight of playing for Syracuse.

“I think he understood and understands what this really means, as far as putting an ‘S’ on your chest,” he said.

Carmelo is expected to be a constant in Syracuse games this season as he supports his son, who is carving his own basketball path.
