Cade Cunningham is not going to sulk after the Detroit Pistons' 13-game win streak was snapped by the Boston Celtics on Wednesday. Cunningham had multiple blunders late in the game that led to their 117-114 loss in the Emirates NBA Cup. Speaking to reporters after the game, Cunningham was asked about his thoughts on the team's first defeat since Oct. 27. He's not thinking about the defeat but about how they are going to bounce back immediately. It's a long season, and they are not even at the halfway point. "We can't go back," Cunningham said, according to Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press. "I can't shoot the free throw again. We can't get up on 3s again. The game is over with. It's about how we're going to respond. It’s a lot of season left to go accomplish a lot of great things, and that's where our mind is at."Cade Cunningham had a brilliant game on Wednesday, finishing with 42 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Cunningham went 12-for-26 from the field and made four 3-point shots. He was also aggressive in attacking the basket and drawing fouls, going 14-for-16 from the charity stripe. However, Cunningham had three major blunders in the last 30 seconds of the game. With around 24 seconds left in the game, he airballed the go-ahead 3-point shot. Luckily for the Pistons, Ausar Thompson recovered the ball and called a timeout. Cunningham had the opportunity to be the hero, but he turned the ball over with 13 seconds remaining. It became a free-throw game after that, with the Boston Celtics having a 115-112 lead with 10 seconds left. TimeoutSPORTS__ @TimeoutSPORTS3LINKCade Cunningham was fouled on a 3. However, Cunningham told ESPN's Vincent Goodwill that he prefers taking home the NBA Finals MVP. "That's not what this season is about for me, though," Cunningham said. "This season is about winning a Finals, more than anything. A Finals MVP, I'd be way more happy about that than a regular MVP."The Pistons remained atop the East standings despite dropping to 15-3 after losing to the Boston Celtics.
