The Lakers and the Suns were tied at 31 apiece in the first quarter before Phoenix's dominant play gave it a 66-52 halftime advantage. Behind Dillon Brooks, the Suns pushed their lead to 96-77 entering the final frame.

Austin Reaves, Luka Doncic and LeBron James tried to rally their team in the fourth quarter, but the Suns refused to wilt. After Reaves' free throw made it 116-94, Redick ushered in his backup crew, led by the younger James, to finish the game.

The sophomore guard stayed on the bench until 5:44 left in the fourth quarter. With only Marcus Smart out, Bronny almost could not see action. Redick raised the white flag when he took out the four-time MVP, Rui Hachimura, and Deandre Ayton, allowing the second-stringers to close the game.

Bronny James continues to struggle in Year 2

Bronny James averaged 2.3 points, 0.7 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 0.3 steals in 6.7 minutes per game last season. JJ Redick called him a "project" that would continue to improve while spending most of his time in the G League. James showed promise while staying out of the limelight, averaging 13.4 ppg, 4.5 apg, 4.0 rpg and 1.0 spg for the South Bay Lakers.

The promise that he showed in the G League seemed to have gone up in smoke this season. He has struggled both in the NBA and in the G League, the reason his and LeBron James' critics have been having a blast.
