Anthony Davis Trade Rumors: Bulls Not Among 3 Teams Pursuing Blockbuster Move For 10-Time All-Star

The Anthony Davis trade rumors reignited on Monday after ESPN's Shams Charania reported that three teams are pursuing the 10-time NBA All-Star. According to Charania, the Detroit Pistons, Toronto Raptors and Atlanta Hawks were among teams "expected" to consider acquiring the Dallas Mavericks forward.

Surprisingly, Charania didn't report the Chicago Bulls as a landing spot. Not only is it Davis' hometown franchise, but the Bulls are also in desperate need of a defensive upgrade and star power. Here's what Charania wrote:

"Anthony Davis of the Dallas Mavericks, another former NBA champion, is expected to be a critical trade target of several teams, including many of the East's contenders. The Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors are expected to be suitors for Davis, league sources told ESPN."

The Pistons have the best record in the East at 19-5, but they lack star power and playoff experience. Meanwhile, the Hawks are ninth with a 14-11 record, but have an exciting young core that Davis could lead alongside Trae Young. The Raptors also have a similar situation with a 15-10 record.

Davis naturally fits well on all three teams. However, the Mavericks will discuss his trade prospects with his agent, Rich Paul, in the coming weeks, depending on Davis' and the team's success. Dallas also hasn't ruled out the possibility of extending him.

"Davis' agent, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, has met with Mavericks interim co-general managers Michael Finley and Matt Riccardi, and requested clarity about whether the franchise wants to extend Davis in the offseason or trade him ahead of the deadline," Charania reported.

"Finley and Riccardi accepted the message and stated the franchise wants to keep its options open and view how the team plays for the next few weeks. They have not ruled out the possibility of an extension."
