The Detroit Pistons are coming after the OKC Thunder in this week's NBA power rankings. The Pistons extended their winning streak to 10 at the end of Week 4. They did so without Cade Cunningham, who missed their last three games.
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers made their return to the top 10 after missing last week's cut. The Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors also made their debut in the NBA power rankings following impressive wins in Week 4.
Let's look at the NBA team power rankings after the fourth week of the season, brought to you by Sportskeeda.

NBA Power Rankings 2025-26 Season: Top 10 Teams After Week 4
#10. Toronto Raptors (9-5)

Previous Ranking: NR
Offensive Rating: 118.1
Defensive Rating: 113.5
Net Rating: 4.6
The Toronto Raptors make their debut in this week's NBA power rankings at 10th place. The Raptors had a rough start to the season, highlighted by Brandon Ingram's bottle-throwing incident that hit a team staffer.
Nevertheless, the team has bounced back and is now 9-5. The Raptors are third in the Eastern Conference standings and are on a four-game winning streak. They have been led by the combined efforts of Scottie Barnes, Brandon Ingram and Immanuel Quickley.
#9. Atlanta Hawks (9-5)

Previous Ranking: NR
Offensive Rating: 115.5
Defensive Rating: 112.0
Net Rating: 3.5
Just like the Toronto Raptors, the Atlanta Hawks surged into this week's NBA power rankings at No. 9. The Hawks were thought to be doomed after Trae Young suffered a knee injury two weeks ago. They also lost Kristaps Porzingis to a minor knee issue, but he's not expected to miss a lot of time.
Jalen Johnson has looked like an All-Star, while Dyson Daniels' offense has come alive. Onyeka Okongwu has filled in admirably for Porzingis, and coach Quin Snyder deserves credit for getting the best out of his injury-plagued team. They are 9-5 and have won five in a row entering Week 5.
#8. Minnesota Timberwolves (9-5)

Previous Ranking: No. 10
Offensive Rating: 119.3
Defensive Rating: 113.2
Net Rating: 6.1
The Minnesota Timberwolves moved up from No. 10 to No. 8 in this week's NBA power rankings. Anthony Edwards continued his torrid start to the campaign, as did Julius Randle.
Minnesota could have climbed higher if only it had gotten the win over the Denver Nuggets late last week. Nevertheless, the Timberwolves are starting to find more consistency, though they still lack an offensive punch off the bench. Naz Reid is having a bad season, and they haven't found Nickeil Alexander-Walker's replacement.
#7. Cleveland Cavaliers (10-5)

Previous Ranking: NR
Offensive Rating: 117.3
Defensive Rating: 112.8
Net Rating: 4.6
The Cleveland Cavaliers are back in this week's NBA power rankings at No. 7. The Cavaliers are one of five teams with at least 10 wins heading into Week 5. Donovan Mitchell has played like an MVP, though the team hasn't found the same magic it had last season.
Nevertheless, Evan Mobley is starting to come around after a sluggish start to the campaign. Jarrett Allen has had his highs and lows, while players like Lonzo Ball, Sam Merrill and Jaylon Tyson have picked up the slack with Darius Garland injured again.
#6. San Antonio Spurs (9-4)

Previous Ranking: No. 2
Offensive Rating: 118.5
Defensive Rating: 111.8
Net Rating: 6.7
The San Antonio Spurs fell out of the Top 5 in this week's NBA power rankings. They were second in Week 4 but only managed sixth this week. That's due to their back-to-back losses to the undersized Golden State Warriors.
Victor Wembanyama also sustained a calf injury that will sideline him for at least a few weeks.
#5. LA Lakers (10-4)

Previous Ranking: No. 5
Offensive Rating: 116.9
Defensive Rating: 115.0
Net Rating: 1.9
The LA Lakers are the only team to remain in their spot in the power rankings. The Lakers are still No. 5, as they have remained consistent. Luka Doncic is having a ridiculously good start to the season, while Austin Reaves continues his All-Star campaign.
More good news for the Lakers is the impending return of LeBron James, who is expected to make his season debut in Week 5. It will be interesting to see if James' return leads to more wins or disrupts the team's offensive flow for the next few games.
#4. Houston Rockets (9-3)

Previous Ranking: No. 6
Offensive Rating: 125.3
Defensive Rating: 113.7
Net Rating: 11.5
The Houston Rockets climbed from the No. 6 spot to No. 4 in this week's NBA power rankings. The Rockets are starting to define the roles for their respective stars, with Kevin Durant being the closer. Durant sealed Houston's overtime win over the Orlando Magic late in Week 4.
Alperen Sengun is the unquestioned leader and playmaker. Amen Thompson is efficient as the point guard, but he's better off as a dynamic wing on both sides of the ball. If the Rockets find a point guard later this season, they could be hard to stop.
#3. Denver Nuggets (10-3)

Previous Ranking: No. 4
Offensive Rating: 124.2
Defensive Rating: 112.3
Net Rating: 11.9
The Denver Nuggets might have ended Week 4 with a tough loss to the Chicago Bulls, but they still finished third in the power rankings. The Nuggets are coping without Christian Braun, with their depth now a strength after their offseason moves.
As long as Nikola Jokic is playing, the Nuggets have a chance to win every game. Jamal Murray has stayed healthy and Aaron Gordon has stepped up his game. However, the biggest boost for Denver is Jokic's ability to stay fresh due to having Jonas Valanciunas as his backup.
#T1. Detroit Pistons

Previous Ranking: No. 3
Offensive Rating: 117.0
Defensive Rating: 110.5
Net Rating: 6.5
The Detroit Pistons are too good to be placed as a standalone No. 2 after winning 10 straight games, so they are tied with the OKC Thunder for the top spot.
In addition to Cade Cunningham's brilliance, Jalen Duren's improvement is another reason for their success. They also won three games in Week 4 without Cunningham, showcasing the strength of the rest of the roster.
#T1. OKC Thunder (14-1)

Previous Ranking: No. 1
Offensive Rating: 119.7
Defensive Rating: 104.5
Net Rating: 15.2
The defending champions have the best record in the NBA, continuing from where they left off last season. The Thunder have been so dominant that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has barely played in the fourth quarter of games.
Another scary fact about the Thunder's start is that they have excelled even without Jalen Williams, who hasn't suited up yet. Aaron Wiggins has also been hurt, but players like Ajay Mitchell and Cason Wallace have stepped up. They have insane depth, and it's hard to see them giving up their spot in the NBA power rankings.
