The Golden State Warriors head east for a three-game road stand, beginning in Philadelphia as they take on the 76ers for the first time this season.
The Warriors are no strangers to inconsistency. It was one of their most prominent issues last season, and it has reemerged now. The Dubs haven’t been able to string consecutive wins together for two weeks.
They went 3-3 over their previous road contests before stumbling to a 2-3 mark at home, including a 124-112 loss to the OKC Thunder on Tuesday in their most recent outing. The team is still floating around .500, but it feels like that could change quickly at any moment based on the return of some key players.
Philadelphia, meanwhile, find themselves in the same territory. After winning four straight games to open the season, they’ve been sauntering between wins and losses, slipping to ninth in the East at 11-9. They haven’t won back-to-back games since that opening four-game burst. Despite the frustration of the mounting losses, the Sixers still trust their process as they go through their major franchise transition.

Tyrese Maxey has been a catalyst for the team this season, playing a massive role by averaging 32.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 7.5 assists per game. He had his 11th 30-point game in the 121-102 win over the Wizards, despite playing a season-low 29 minutes.

The Warriors will be without their most important piece in Steph Curry. The superstar guard hasn’t played since Nov. 27 due to a quadriceps injury and is expected to miss the three-game road trip. Alex Toohey remains out with a knee injury.
Al Horford, who missed the last four games with a sciatic nerve issue, is listed as questionable along with Jimmy Butler (knee soreness), Trayce Jackson-Davis (knee), Jonathan Kuminga (ankle) and Quinten Post (ankle). All of them are expected to go through medical testing to determine their status before tipoff.
However, in positive news, De’Anthony Melton will make his season debut after being called to the roster for the first time since suffering an ACL injury last year. He’ll provide massive depth off the bench along with new signing Seth Curry, who posted 14 points in 18 minutes in his season debut against the Thunder.
Steve Kerr will stick with the same lineup combinations, with Jimmy Butler starting alongside Draymond Green, Moses Moody, Brandin Podziemski and Will Richard.
