The OKC Thunder are returning home from a three-game road trip to take on the Dallas Mavericks on Friday. The two teams battled earlier this season, with the Thunder prevailing in a 101-94 victory.

Fresh off a 124-112 win over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, the Thunder have stacked 13 straight wins, outscoring their opponents by an average of 123.33 to 115.33 in their last three games.

Even with injuries sidelining several key players, including Isaiah Hartenstein, Lu Dort and Alex Caruso, the reigning champions continue to find ways to win. When something does break down, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is there to bail them out.

Plenty of chatter has surrounded the Mavericks’ poor start to the season, but the general feeling is that a turnaround is on the horizon with the return of Anthony Davis to the lineup.

They went 16-4 in November in Davis’ absence. Since his return, Dallas has gone 4-1, sitting 5.0 games ahead of the last-placed Pelicans and 3.0 games behind the Warriors in the Western Conference standings.

Still, there are plenty of games left to be played, and this is a squad missing some big names that still knows how to win. And once everyone is pulling the rope equally, the results should be there for them once again.
