The Dallas Mavericks and the LA Lakers renew their rivalry in a preseason game on Wednesday. It's a highly anticipated clash following the unprecedented Luka Doncic-for-Anthony Davis trade that shook the NBA in February.
There will be plenty of storylines to follow in this matchup, with several former Lakers, including Max Christie and D'Angelo Russell, lining up alongside Davis. Meanwhile, it remains unclear if Doncic will suit up against the franchise that gave him his first taste of the NBA.
Dallas enters this game having won two of its three preseason games against the OKC Thunder and Utah Jazz. The Mavericks' only loss came against the Charlotte Hornets. They will look to end the preseason on a high note and begin preparations for opening night against the San Antonio Spurs.
Meanwhile, the Lakers are 1-3 and have two preseason games remaining. They are coming off a loss against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday. Luka Doncic debuted in the preseason and put up 25 points, which was one of the bright spots for the team.
