Two weeks ago, ESPN's Shams Charania reported that Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was having conversations with his agent regarding his future with the franchise. This report sparked a wave of rumors about Antetokounmpo's potential landing spots.
However, new intel from Eric Nehm of The Athletic suggests that the team is still looking to keep the two-time MVP who led them to the NBA championship in 2021. According to Nehm, the Bucks are considering a number of trade targets whose arrival in Milwaukee could perhaps convince Antetokounmpo to stay put.
Notably, some of these targets have already been identified. Other names begin to surface when one takes a look at the areas for improvement that the Bucks need to work on in the short-term and long-term future.

Bucks trade rumors: 5 potential additions Milwaukee could target to convince Giannis Antetokounmpo to stay
Zach LaVine

As per Nehm, the Bucks have "done due diligence" on the Sacramento Kings' Zach LaVine, a player that they've been eyeing for quite some time. The two-time All-Star is an athletic forward who would make sense as a number two option behind Antetokounmpo.
Anfernee Simons

There are also reports that the Bucks have been watching Anfernee Simons of the Boston Celtics. The 6-foot-3 guard can provide steady scoring alongside the Greek Freak, and at bare minimum, Milwaukee can get below the tax line by trading away a player like Kyle Kuzma in exchange for Simons.
Pascal Siakam

During the 2020 All-Star draft, Antetokounmpo (who was then the team captain of the East squad) famously called Pascal Siakam "my African brother." Five years later, they could turn out to be teammates in Milwaukee as this season's iteration of the Bucks could use an upgrade at the wing position.
Tyler Herro

The time missed by Tyler Herro at the beginning of this season has been somewhat costly, as the Miami Heat have gone on to thrive without him on the court. Acquiring Herro would allow the Bucks to load up on their firepower in the backcourt, which is still reeling from the exit of Damian Lillard.
Derrick White

Derrick White is another viable backcourt dance partner for Antetokounmpo. The one-time NBA champion can help the Bucks on both ends of the floor while allowing the Boston Celtics to shed millions of dollars from their books and avoid tax complications.
