Chelsea Gray is a professional basketball player. She plays for Team Rose in the Unrivaled 3x3 basketball league and the Las Vegas Aces in the WNBA. She was selected by the Connecticut Sun in the 2014 NBA Draft as the eleventh overall pick. Unfortunately, an injury postponed Gray's professional debut. She was forced to miss the whole 2014 season. She recovered, though, and joined the Sun for her WNBA debut in 2015. In a subsequent trade involving several draft picks, she was acquired by the Los Angeles Sparks.

It was this move to Los Angeles that changed everything for Gray. In her first season with the Sparks, she helped them win the WNBA championship in 2016. In 2021, Gray chose to sign a free agent contract with the Las Vegas Aces. In the next two seasons, Gray led the team to two consecutive titles. She won her third championship overall in 2025 while playing for the Aces. She was also voted the 2022–2023 Finals MVP.

On October 8, 1992, Chelsea Nichelle Gray was born in Hayward, California. She started playing basketball at St. Mary's High School. She helped her team, the Rams, win over 30 games in each of their two seasons. In her junior and senior years, she also contributed to winning the CIF Division 3 Women's State Championships.

Gray's senior year was particularly remarkable. She received numerous prestigious awards and recognitions. These included being named a McDonald's All-American, a WBCA All-American, and the 2010 Gatorade Player of the Year. By the end of her high school career, Gray had scored an impressive 2,164 points. She was ranked as the 4th overall player on ESPN's Top 100 Women's list for the class of 2010.

After considering her options, Gray chose to attend Duke University. There, she played for the Duke Blue Devils under the guidance of coach Joanne P. McCallie. This decision marked the beginning of her college basketball career and set the stage for her future success in the WNBA.
