Chelsea Gray is an American professional basketball player for the Las Vegas Aces. She is a four-time WNBA champion. Gray was selected 11th overall in the 2014 WNBA Draft by the Connecticut Sun but was traded to the Los Angeles Sparks before the 2016 season. In her very first season with the Sparks, she won the WNBA title. She played a key role for the Sparks, coming off the bench during the playoffs. Chelsea Gray averaged 9.0 points, 1.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.1 steals per game in the 2016 postseason, shooting 40.6% from the field and 39.1% from three.

During her time with the Las Vegas Aces, Gray became a star. She played a crucial role in the Aces' championship runs in 2022, 2023, and 2025. In 2022, she won the WNBA Finals MVP award, averaging 13.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game, as per Basketball Reference. Gray is a six-time WNBA All-Star and made the All-WNBA First Team in 2019 and the All-WNBA Second Team in 2017 and 2023.

Chelsea Gray College

Chelsea Gray attended and played for Duke University in North Carolina. She is regarded as one of the top point guards in Duke women’s basketball history.

In her freshman year (2010-11), Gray played 34 games, averaging 9.3 points, 4.0 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game, and was named to the All-ACC Freshman team as per her college roster page. Her statistics improved in almost all categories in her sophomore year (2011-12) as she put up 12.5 points, 6.1 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game and was ranked 12th nationally in assists made and 29th in steals. This was also the first year that she had a triple-double game against Pittsburgh with 14 points, a record 13 assists, and 11 rebounds.

In her junior year (2012-13), Gray got on the radar as she was put on the Nais

mith Preseason Player of the Year watchlist and was also named co-ACC Player of the Year by the head coaches. She averaged 12.6 points, 5.4 assists, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.6 steals in that season, but unfortunately got injured in the 25th game of the season and missed the remainder of the year. This was also the year when she recorded her second triple-double at Boston College with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. Her school record of 15 assists was also made this year against Clemson.

As a senior, she could only play 17 games before she fractured her kneecap and had to sit out the rest of the season. She bagged the ACC Player of the Week twice in November, became a Naismith and Wade Watch candidate for National Player of the Year, earned an All-ACC Academic Team selection, and was also on the Nancy Lieberman Award Watch List for the top point guard in the nation. Looking at all the records she still holds at Duke, it is safe to say that she showed flashes of greatness right from college and showed consistent year-on-year improvement, which has culminated in giving her the illustrious career she has today.

Over a one-year career at Duke, Chelsea Gray totalled 1,210 career points, ranking 25th all-time, with an 81.4% free-throw percentage (4th). Her 545 assists were 2nd in school history, averaging a record 5.0 per game. She maintained a 38.5% three-point shooting percentage (tied 9th) and collected 298 steals (3rd). Chelsea Gray High School

Chelsea Gray attended St. Mary's in Stockton, California. At St. Mary's, she was named McDonald’s and WBCA All-American and was selected to the 2010 All-USA Today team. She was Co-Player of the Year on Parade's 2010 All-America team and a three-time Record Player of the Year. As a senior, Chelsea Gray averaged 16 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 5.1 steals, leading her team to the Class 6A state championship.
