Red Bull star Max Verstappen lost the 2025 title to Lando Norris by two points despite dominating the season finale in Abu Dhabi. The Dutchman recently came out with a hilarious pregnancy analogy to explain his loss to the McLaren star.Max Verstappen went into the 2025 season with a troublesome RB21, and he consistently complained about the balance of the car. Yet despite the issues, the Dutchman was able to win a couple of races in the first half of the season. Regardless, after the Dutch GP, he was 104 points behind the championship leader.A change in the senior Red Bull management with Laurent Mekies replacing Christian Horner and a new upgrade package brought to the Italian GP meant the four-time champion was once again in contention for race wins, and cut the gap down to just 12 points going into the season finale.Norris did just enough at the Yas Marina circuit to clinch the title by just a couple of points and became the first McLaren driver to win the title since Lewis Hamilton in 2008. Reflecting on the 2025 title battle, Max Verstappen said, (via Viaplay)“I think we can be happy that we were even able to fight for the championship. First of all, we were never actually leading the standings. We also received plenty of gifts ourselves. Then, in the end, you win the race in Las Vegas, and McLaren was disqualified there, otherwise you wouldn’t even be in the picture. Of course, we benefited from that as well.”Using the pregnancy analogy to explain missing the championship by two points, Max Verstappen said,“In the end it comes down to two points. But it doesn’t really matter whether it’s one point, half a point, or twenty points. You’re either pregnant or you’re not. You’re not half-pregnant, right?”Verstappen took to the team radio after losing the title in Abu Dhabi and suggested that he was proud of the team and the comeback.Max Verstappen on the love-hate relationship with the Red Bull RB21Max Verstappen had a rollercoaster 2025 season where sometimes he was unbeatable in the RB21, while at other times, he failed to even make it out of the Q1 session. The 2025 Brazilian GP was a good example where Red Bull couldn't get the RB21 in a proper operating window, given the sprint format weekend, and Verstappen was eliminated in Q1.However, after making changes overnight and breaking Parc Ferme, Verstappen went from pitlane to podium despite having an early puncture. Detailing the love-hate relationship with the RB21, Max Verstappen said,“I have no regrets about my season. I think the performance has been strong. I've hated this car at times, but I've also loved it at times. And I always tried to extract the most from it, even in the difficult weekends that we’ve had. It's been, like I said before, a proper rollercoaster with the car,” (via F1's official website)Apart from balance, another recurring problem suffered by Verstappen in the RB21 was the car jumping around while going into the corners.
