Charles Leclerc made his way into Q3 during the Qatar GP qualifying on Saturday by the skin of his teeth, while his teammate Lewis Hamilton was already knocked out in P3. However, the Monegasque couldn't make any impact during the final session as he qualified last of the remaining 10 drivers.

Leclerc had a huge moment on his penultimate lap during the session, as he went for a double spin in a scary incident. After this, he had only used soft tires remaining in his arsenal, further hindering his chances.

As expected, Leclerc was unable to improve on his final lap and went down to P10 as the chequered flag was waved. After the session, the 28-year-old came over the team radio and shared an expletive-laden message over the team radio, saying:

"Unbelievable. For f**k's sake. What is happening? It‘s so frustrating!"

The Qatar GP weekend has been a troubling one for Charles Leclerc and Ferrari up until this point. The Sprint race delivered no points for either driver as both Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton struggled to find pace on Saturday.

The issues have now carried over into GP qualifying, as Leclerc managed only P10 on the grid for the main race, while Hamilton will line up down in P18. It now remains to be seen what the pair can do coming race day, but expectations of an exceptional result are slowly but surely diminishing at the Italian team.

When asked in the media about the Frenchman and his car being quicker than the Ferrari SF-25 in Lusail, Leclerc replied, saying: [via Canal+]

"I don’t know what to say. It’s a fact, we’re in serious trouble. We’re struggling to find out (where it comes from), because we’ve tried a lot and tested different set-up directions, but the car is simply slow. That’s how it is."

Leclerc qualified in P9 at the previous round in Las Vegas. Before that, the eight-time F1 race-winner had actually been on a strong run of qualifying form with top 3 starts in the three Grands Prix leading up to Vegas.

But for the penultimate round of the 2025 season, Charles Leclerc finds himself with an uphill battle during the race as he looks to salvage what he can from a disastrous weekend for the Maranello-based team.
